The Section for Computational Sensomotorics (Sektion für theoretische Sensomotorik) combines theoretical neuroscience with experimental research, and applications in biomedical engineering, in the domains of action perception and control, and neurodegenerative diseases. It is part of the Werner Reichardt Center for Integrative Neuroscience (CIN), the Hertie Institute for Clinical Brain Research (HIH), the Medical Faculty of the University of Tübingen (MFT), and the Bernstein Center for Computational Neuroscience (BCCN). Research integrates experimental and theoretical neuroscience, as well as the development of technical applications.
We collaborate closely with the Center of Neurology at the University Clinic and the Max Planck Institutes for Biological Cybernetics and Intelligent Systems in Tübingen. The section is and was funded by the European Research Council (ERC), the Human Frontiers Science Program (HFSP), the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG), Ministry for Health (BMG), the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), the Hertie Foundation , and the Baden-Württemberg Foundation.
